We had the best experience working with House of Clarendon and Martine for our recent June wedding! First things first, THE CAKE TASTED AMAAAZZZIINNNNGGGG!! & it of course, looked absolutely amazing too! Martine was very communicative throughout the process and provided us with the most beautiful and delicious Vintage Blueberry Lemon cake of our dreams. Doing our tasting of a million (literally so many combos of flavors that they offer!) different cakes was so fun and allowed us to settle on the perfect flavor combination for us. I ate the cake on the wedding day, for breakfast, and on my drive home. Guests said that it was the best cake they have ever had! Cannot say enough amazing things! Thank you House of Clarendon & thank you Martine!
The cupcakes are the best I have ever tasted. I can only imagine what the cakes taste like. Such detail to the Dubai Chocolate cupcake. I may have to see about making overnight fedex delivery to Dallas.
I came here several years ago with my mom and have been waiting for the day I could make it back again. Martine's cupcakes are delicious, and unlike anything I've ever had, being that they're topped with mousse and not frosting. I can easily eat several in a sitting, as I just did after finally being reunited with them! His cupcakes are definitely in my top 5 favorite cupcake places in the US. If you're in the area, don't skip out on dropping by and picking up a few of these delectable treats.
We were scrambling to find a cake last minute for a small backyard wedding and had some specific wants! Martine hopped right on the phone with me and talked me through our options in great detail which was much appreciated! With only a week’s notice (sorry Martine!!!), they put together a beautiful pumpkin naked layer cake with cream cheese mousse as well as pumpkin cupcakes with gorgeous edible fall flowers and leaves on top. It was quite possibly the best pumpkin cake I’ve ever had and our guests were raving about it! They really went above and beyond to put together our vision and to explain instructions on how to store and serve the cake when it was time! I was truly impressed and will absolutely order again! Along with everything being delicious, I was grateful that Martine went out of his way to help me put this together. You can tell how passionate he is about his craft! 1000/10 would recommend!
I think this place might just make the best cupcakes ever. Seriously, in over 4 decades of my existence on this planet, I don't think I've ever had a better cupcake. Light and fluffy and full of flavor, these little cakes are definitely worth the price tag. There are so many more flavors that I didn't get to try on the first order, and I will absolutely be back for more.
1st time in this bakery,went to pickup something little but different& really good for my 33 year old birthday. The owner came out immediately & so friendly. Explained all the many amazing flavors,offered me a free cupcake to try. Super moist, flavorful. Icing perfect. Got my daughter the Dubai chocolate, toffee and honey bourbon cupcakes. Food made with love but fancy!
June 2025: Lancaster Local Social Media raves about this place - I wanted to see for myself. Can I give them 20 stars? The owner, the service, the choices, the cupcakes, macaroons, & cakes are all stellar! The cupcakes are unique, of such excellent quality. The cake is light, airy, & moist. The topping is not standard icing - it's delicious mousse-like but firm enough to stay domed on top. These special little cakes aren't (in my opinion) for little kid's parties - they are for people who will appreciate the quality, care, & apparent love that goes into making each one! I recommend eating with a fork on a special plate! We loved every one in the assortment I bought - can't pick a favorite. Now let's talk about their "Dubai" Cupcake. Really hard to explain; but lots of unique filling & toppings. Decadent, Special, Unique - worth every penny! And their Macroons were extra special melt in your mouth with bursts of flavor. Be prepared to roll your eyes, smack your lips, and moan like Sally (in Harry met Sally) when eating all these delicious treats. You might want to wait 'till the kids go to bed! The owner, Martine, was wonderful & made me feel seen, valued, and like a special guest. And eating their decadent treats makes us feel like royalty. I am sure that they treat each & every customer the same way. Know that you can get a single cupcake for only $3.10. But also know, it'll be really hard to choose just one! Sorry to go on & on; but it's been a long time since I've been this overly satisfied with a retail establishment & their food. I hope you try them too.
We could not recommend House of Clarendon enough! Martine was so responsive (which is rare to find!), kind, professional, and clearly passionate about his craft. For our wedding, we had a three-tiered cake, additional backup cake, and platters of cannolis—all of which were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Martine even arranged the florals from our florist onto the cake with such care, making it look stunning. He was also incredibly transparent with pricing, helped us stay within budget, and gave honest guidance about quantities without ever trying to oversell us. The result was a cake that was both breathtaking and delicious, plus desserts that our guests raved about. If you’re looking for a baker for your wedding, we wholeheartedly recommend House of Clarendon!
My boyfriend likes to get me fun themed cakes for my late October birthday each year. After moving to the Lancaster area, we had to find a new bakery for said tradition. House of Clarendon is absolutely our new go too! They truly outdid themselves on this spooky treat! From the intricate decorations to the mouthwatering cake itself, everything far exceeded expectations. Thank you so much for helping make my birthday so special!
A truly excellent experience. Martine was there to greet us. He is very knowledgeable about his baked specialties. It was great taking to him. The cupcakes are absolutely delicious! Hoping to try a cake in the near future. Definitely will be back!
